1. How do you load an audio file to a key or edit a key? There are two ways to load a file. You can drag and drop the file onto the key, or you can right click on the key and press Browse. You can edit the key by subsequently right clicking on the key. To right click on the Mac, hold CTRL and mouse-click on the key. More detailed information is available in the help section of the software or in the manual, available for download at http://www.kueit.com/download.
2. Can I use KueIt on more than one computer? KueIt may only be activated on one computer per product key. You will need to purchase additional product keys in order to activate KueIt on multiple computers. However, you can transfer your KueIt activation from one computer to another -- see "Can I move KueIt to another computer?" for more details.
3. Will I receive a CD in the mail if I buy KueIt from this site? How can I get the KueIt installer? This product is available from this website as a download only. We do not ship boxes of CDs or other materials. After you have purchased the product, you will receive a product key along with a link to download the program installer. You will need both to install and activate the product. 4. I misplaced or forgot to download my installer file. If you need to download the KueIt installer again, or if you would like to upgrade to the latest version, log into the downloads page to get the latest installer. 5.How do I upgrade to the latest version? If you need to download the KueIt installer again, or if you would like to upgrade to the latest version, log into the downloads page to get the latest installer. 6. Can I purchase KueIt on a different computer than the one I want to install it on? Yes, when you purchase the product you will be given a product key and a link to download the program. You can either download the software and copy it to another computer, or you can download it directly onto the other computer by visiting http://www.kueit.com/download . Please note that you must install and activate KueIt only on the computer you intend to use it on. If you need to download the KueIt installer again, or if you would like to upgrade to the latest version, log into http://www.KueIt.com/download to get the latest installer. 7. Can I move KueIt to another computer? Yes, you can. You first need to deactivate your program in order to re-activate it on another machine. Just run the program, then click on File>Deactivate in the menu. You will need internet access in order to successfully deactivate KueIt. Once deactivated, you will be issued with a new product key. Use this key to re-activate KueIt on another machine. Note: UNINSTALLING KUEIT DOES NOT DEACTIVATE. You must do this in the program itself. 8. How does KueIt output the audio? How do I play audio through my mixer? KueIt uses the soundcard that you have selected in your preferences. To select a different soundcard, go to File->Preferences in Windows or KueIt->Preferences in Mac. Then, click on the Soundcard tab and select your soundcard in the pull down menu. This could be either your built-in 1/8" output jack or a high end external sound card. The most common way to connect KueIt to a mixer is with an 1/8" to RCA cable from your computer's headphone output, into the aux input on your mixer. You must have the built in soundcard enabled in the preferences to use the headphone output (this is the default setting). If your mixer does not have an aux in, any available line level input will work. After inserting your 1/8 inch plug, make sure that your computer's volume is set to the maximum. We have been able to run KueIt with slower processors (eg. 1.67Ghz) than our minimum system requirements; however, occasionally we have had problems with global hotkeys on older hardware, especially on Windows. Although we do not support machines that do not meet the minimum CPU requirements, you may find that KueIt works fine. As for RAM, KueIt is likely to have difficulty loading profiles with many or large audio files in systems with less than 1GB of memory. You only need Internet access to activate KueIt. This happens when you run KueIt for the first time. Once it has been activated, you no longer need to be connected to the Internet to use KueIt. You also need Internet access if you want to deactivate. 11. Will changing my hardware or Operating System affect my activation of KueIt? Yes, this is very likely. KueIt requires for you to first deactivate the software first (see previous question) and then make your hardware changes. Once your changes are done, you can re-activate KueIt again with the new product key. Remember: Uninstalling KueIt DOES NOT DEACTIVATE. You must do this in the program itself. 12. How do I use Global Hot Keys? You must first enable Global Hot Keys in the preferences located in the menu. Once enabled, you can trigger all your keys while KueIt is not in focus. What this means is that you can switch from KueIt to another program and still trigger your sounds. Do not minimize KueIt. Global Hot Keys might not work if KueIt is minimized since on most systems this will put the program to sleep. Easy. Just hit ALT+TAB in Windows and COMMAND+TAB in Mac. More detailed information is available in the help section of the software or in the manual, available for download at http://www.kueit.com/download. 14. I like to use Global Hot Keys, but it messes me up when I want to type in a search in other DJ programs. Is there a work-around to this? Yes. We made it easy for you to disable Global Hot Keys temporary while using another program. Simply just hit the \ key to disable it and hit the ` to enable it again. These shortcuts only work if you have Global Hot Keys enabled in the preferences menu. Note: these shortcut keys are different in other languages since the keyboard layout is different. Check the program's help and manuals for the appropriate keys in that particular language. 15. How do I stop all the sound coming from KueIt? Three ways: the ESC key, SPACEBAR, or by hitting the on-screen display STOP SIGN button. Any of these will stop all the audio in KueIt. While in another program with Global Hot Keys enabled, ESC will not work; you will have to use the SPACEBAR instead. This prevents you from accidentally quitting some programs, since the ESC key often exits applications. 16. The waveform display is taking too long to draw. Is there a way to speed it up? Yes. You can change the length of the waveform to be drawn in the preferences menu...15sec, 30sec, 1min, 2min, ALL. You can also change this inside the key edit window; however, changing it in the edit window will not permanently change your preference.
You can adjust the master volume by clicking on the master knob in KueIt (located under the level meters) and using the mouse to adjust it. If you want to go back to the default volume (5.0), just click on the knob while holding the SHIFT button. Also, make sure that your computer volume is set at the maximum level. (Since each computer is different, read your computer manual or contact your computer's manufacturer to find out how this is done on your machine.) Mac users please note that most Mac computers auto-adjust the volume to half volume every time an 1/8 inch plug is inserted into the headphone jack of the machine. For best performance, we recommend that you turn this volume level back up to the maximum before each use of KueIt.
Just right click the key that's playing and a pop window with a volume control will be displayed. Adjusting the knob in this window will change the volume in real-time. |
